- How is your understanding of the topic after doing the project?
The project allows us to apply the lessons that we have learnt from uses of the three Adobe applications, that are; Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash. I have learnt not only the understanding of topics like multimedia and interface but I also learnt topics taught during lectures on appropriate design metaphors for websites after doing the project. I understand that a website has to be simple and understandable and when designing a website for the project, it requires different skills and understanding of many topics learnt in lectures like “K.I.S.S=Keep it simple, silly” and “white space” that are crucial when making a website.
- Understanding about digital media?
After doing the assignments and project, and attending lectures, I’ve learnt that digital media is about learning about “Multimedia” and its many applications, which includes color, sound, images, designs, the benefits of multimedia, etc. I think digital media helps me to understand more about Multimedia, its benefits and applications towards the business world, in terms of communicating information in a more creative and interactive way, where a user like me is able to interact and learn much more than doing it traditionally or in other ways. Digital media, is a form of media, not traditional but it makes use of sounds, music and images including uses of interface in websites to allow a better two way communication, therefore helps a lot in conveying information in an interactive and much faster way.
- What were the problems faced during the project? How did you/your team solve your group problems?
There were not many major problems faced during the project. There were only problems of communication among members. Members were having different timeslots and classes, so it was hard for us to meet up. So much of our communication and teamwork were via text messaging and online. It was difficult to get feedbacks quickly from each other but overall, we managed to solve it and in fact, there were much more feedbacks via these methods than from a meeting.
- What would you do differently next time?
I would probably have done more research on certain topics and do more tutorials for the project. I would love to learn more about webpage designs.
- How is your motivation level?
For every new subject like Digital Media, I’m excited to learn, especially when it involves new skills and knowledge. My motivation level for any new subject like this will always be high. It’s always good to learn new things everyday.
- How was working with your group, team leader, tutorial group leader and Project Manager?
With a small group of five members and a friend as a team leader, it wasn’t really hard when it comes to team work. I think it was a great experience working with new people and sharing ideas. Working with a friend as a team leader eases communication. The tutorial group leader was co operative and he was not hard to work with. It was a good experience, working with them.
- How was it working on the project?
At first, I thought that it was complicated since it involves so many tutorial groups’ works. I was confused with the project but after the team leader briefly explained to us about the process and steps in making the project, the flow became simple and we worked step by step to finish our part only. We actually managed our schedule well, so we knew what to do in each week. After attending tutorials and learning different applications, we did the project appropriately and it was no longer confusing and difficult anymore. We had to do research for information and practiced the tools from each Adobe to create the project.
- Update on what you have been writing previously
I have been working on the work in progress for my part in the project, like the potential designs of the website and the information that I would include in it. Now the project is completed.
- How were your teammates & team leader?
They have been nice members and co operation was moderate and the best part of being in a team with them is it wasn’t as tough as expected working with completely new people.
Working with a friend as the team leader was easy since we have been working together in many assignments together, so there weren’t much difficulty in understanding what she wants. She gives us order and I know how to fulfill it. Team mates are able to understand her so her leadership has been friendly and understandable.
- Personal evaluation of your own effort and that of your team
I think I have done my best in contributing my part and fulfilling task given by my team leader. I just want our website to look appropriate as directed in the assignment brief itself and apply what I have learnt from tutorials into this project. I allowed my self to spend time during weekends designing my part and finding information. My team has been working hard too, doing what we should do as members and we followed exactly as briefed in the project outline and we allowed ideas and suggestions and decided the design of the project together. We took the project seriously and made it as both our personal and team efforts.
